Meta Ads Library: Navigation Guide
Did you know that Facebook has an Ads Library which you can see the actual ads that pages are running? As a product of going through puberty on the internet, it tickles my little internet stalking brain just right. Outlined here is a step by step guide for navigating to the ads library. Happy browsing!
Step one:
Navigate to the Facebook page that you’re wanting to take a look at, from there you’ll want to click on the about section.
Step two:
From the about section you’ll navigate and click on the page transparency section.
Step three:
In the page transparency section, you’ll see the following message if the page is not running any ads.
If a page is running ads, you’ll see the following message and will navigate to the see all button at the bottom of the section.
Step four:
Within this page transparency section, you’ll scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the “go to ad library” button.
Step five:
You made it! Congratulations! My recommendation is to just scroll and click around. What kind of language are they using in their ad copy? Is it casual or more formal? Are they using video assets or still images?
Once you’ve familiarized yourself with the platform, there are a few different things you can do to navigate, I’ve highlighted the two most common tools to use below.
The smaller search box at the bottom will allow you to search for specific keywords within the page. Think of searching for keywords like “freebie” or “giveaway” or “fall promo”.
The larger search box at the top will allow you to navigate to other pages, search for them, and navigate to them.
You’ve made it this far, now what?
